JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for driving philanthropic growth within the assigned division by building a strong pipeline of donors and prospects. This role actively identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individuals, foundations, and community partners to expand financial support for Evergreen Life Services through individual giving, grants, and special events. The Director of Development serves as the lead fundraising representative for the assigned region and is responsible for building Evergreen’s visibility, philanthropic presence, and reputation across new and emerging markets.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Build and actively manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, with a focus on pipeline growth, donor acquisition, and revenue generation.
- Execute a disciplined moves management process to advance prospects from identification through solicitation and stewardship.
- Conduct regular, proactive outreach, including in-person visits, virtual meetings, and community engagement.
- Meet or exceed defined performance metrics, including donor visits, new donor acquisition, solicitations, and revenue goals.
- Develop and implement targeted strategies to grow individual giving within the assigned market.
- Identify, write, and manage grant proposals and reporting to secure institutional funding.
- Play a key role in planning and executing special events, including sponsorship development, logistics coordination, vendor management, revenue growth, and donor engagement.
- Build strategic relationships with local businesses, elected officials, civic organizations, disability advocacy partners, and community leaders to expand Evergreen’s visibility, reputation, reach, and funding base within new and emerging markets.
- Serve as a local ambassador for Evergreen Life Services by cultivating community partnerships and increasing awareness of the organization’s mission and impact.
- Secure and leverage speaking opportunities to generate new prospects and deepen community awareness.
- Partner with staff and volunteers to strengthen donor engagement and open new networks.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all donor activity in the database.
- Prepare and submit bi-weekly activity and pipeline reports to the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO).
- Continuously evaluate and adjust strategies to improve fundraising outcomes.
- Establish and strengthen Evergreen’s philanthropic presence within assigned markets through community engagement, relationship development, and strategic visibility efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of development growth initiatives.

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two or more years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, sales, or a related field with demonstrated results.
- Proven ability or strong potential to meet performance goals and build relationships that lead to financial support.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to proactively initiate contact and build a pipeline of prospects.
- Interest in and commitment to the Evergreen Life Services mission.
- Ability to articulate a compelling case for support.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to work entrepreneurially and build community relationships and fundraising opportunities from the ground up preferred.
- Experience with grant writing, events, or donor engagement preferred.
- A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Constantly moves about to coordinate work.
- Regularly works in a fast-paced environment with multiple task deadlines.
- Regularly moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally exposed to viruses and infectious conditions.
- Constantly alert and observant during working hours.
- Will not supervise.
- Ability to interact professionally with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships with staff and external partners.
- Willingness to attend training and professional development as needed.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace.
- Ability to learn donor databases and fundraising systems.
- Aptitude to learn other software programs as required for this position.
- Must have a good driving record that meets the minimum requirements for Evergreen and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with Evergreen staff and with contacts from other agencies or entities.
- Availability for evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
- Regular local travel required for donor meetings, community engagement, and events.
- Hybrid position with a combination of in-office and remote work based in Dallas, TX.
